Meet your Inspector
Mike Cooke was born and raised in a small town in Saskatchewan. At the age of 14 he started working construction with his uncle (Boss) that was a Journeyman Carpenter. He built houses and did every aspect from the foundation to the finishing work. After graduating high school he moved to Calgary where he worked his way up to the position of foreman for a swimming pool company. This is where he learned how to tile. Mike had a tiling company for 10 years. Mike has worked in the construction industry off and on for 25 plus years. Mike has a well rounded construction experience throughout his life. Mike is currently a full time Firefighter with the City of Grande Prairie. Mike Has been a Firefighter since 2006. Mike has a wealth of knowledge in the fire safety side where he is a certified fire inspector as well.
Mike has made his home in Grande Prairie for the last 18 years and is married with two children. Mike is a big part of the community as he volunteers his time for many organizations. He was the treasurer and helped lead a Charitable organization in Grande Prairie. Mike is very active with his kids sports, academics and will continue to be a positive influence in the community for many years to come.
Meet your Inspector
Terry Haughian is a long-time resident of Grande Prairie. He completed the Building Construction series of courses while attending the Composite High School. He graduated from the Composite High School in 1979 and worked in construction. He started working for the City of Grande Prairie as a Firefighter in February 1985. He retired from the Fire Department in September 2016 (31.5 years).
While working at the Fire Department he continued to work part time in construction. In the early 90’s he received the Alberta Provincial Journeyman Carpenter Certificate. He has continued working in construction. He has a well-rounded knowledge of residential construction and has experience in all aspects of construction including roofing, siding, concrete, framing, boarding (drywall), insulating, epoxy injection for concrete repairs and flooring. Terry has experience with residential construction ranging from the 1970’s through to the present.
Terry married Darlene in 1982 and together they have three children (1 son, 2 daughters) and three granddaughters.
